What is Discord auto-moderation?
Auto-moderation is a set of always-on filters that catch spam, scam links, unsolicited invites and rule-breaking messages automatically — so a moderator doesn’t have to be watching every channel. Octera’s filters can log, warn, delete and escalate on their own.
What is heat scoring?
Heat scoring weighs each message for things like caps, mentions, links and attachments, and only punishes a member when their total crosses the limit you set. It catches genuine spam bursts while leaving normal chat alone — far fewer false positives than a flat keyword filter.
Which auto-mod filters should I turn on first?
Start with spam and flood control, a scam-link filter and an invite filter — they stop the most common problems. Add text filters like excessive caps, emoji spam and wall-of-text new lines as you see what your server needs.
Will auto-moderation punish normal members?
Not if it’s tuned. Because Octera uses heat scoring with a limit and cooldown you control, ordinary chat stays untouched and only real offenders get actioned. Members are also DM’d when a message is removed so they understand the rule.
